Quick Bio:

My name is Caleb Scoville and I am currently a Spanish teacher and cross country and track coach at Timpanogos High School in Orem, Utah. I was born and raised in Vancouver–not Canada; Washington, but not Washington D.C. (Saw that somewhere one time and thought it was clever.) I went to college at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah where I studied Spanish, Spanish Teaching, P.E. and Coaching after serving a two-year service mission for my church in Argentina. I’m married to a wonderful girl and I have two sons who are awesome and crazy.

I’m obsessed with running. The definition of obsess is “preoccupy or fill the mind of (someone) continually, intrusively, and to a troubling extent.” Yep, that’s me and running. I love it, hate it, can’t think about anything but it many times. I played soccer and basketball for a few before joining the track team in 7th grade at Cascade Junior High (now Middle School) and then falling in love with it 8th grade. I ran cross country and track all 4 years at Evergreen High School where I ran with great teammates and coaches. I tried out for BYU’s cross country team three times: Fall of 2003, 2009 and 2010. That’s another story, for another day, but I failed to make the team and instead of accepting defeat I began to immerse myself into the science of running: biomechanics, physiology, nutrition, mental training etc. My PRs for running are as follows:

400 :53  Regionals Track 2003
800 2:11  5/28/16
1600 4:39  Senior Year 2003
3200 10:19  Senior Year 2003
5K 16:13  Foot Locker West Region Supporter Race
10K 33:25:00 Spectrum 10K St. George 2014
Half-Marathon 1:16:00 St. George Half 2014
Marathon 2:43 Grandma’s Marathon 2014
Ultra-Marathon Pocatello 50 (52 miler)  June 2012

Extra Stuff:

I like peanut-butter bars from Macey’s Grocery Store. Skinny ties with a silver clip and a nice cardigan is my jam! Coldplay is my favorite, but I’m also a sucker for contemporary pop, pop-rock, indie and rock. I have ADD, Anxiety and Depression which has been very hard and also a wonderful learning experience. I also love blank, white pieces of plain, old, regular computer paper–there’s so much potential in creation, and paper makes me happy. I like fashion, movies, spy/espionage stuff and DEFINITELY spending time with my wife and boys. Shout out to Legos with Kimball!!!
