KRP 026: NOP Status with Steve Horn

In 2015 allegations came out against Alberto Salazar and some unethical behavior with respect to drug use. Before you accuse us of accusing them, stop. In this podcast episode, Steve Horn (see his bio below) and I go over when this all went down, what happened then, what’s happened since and what happened VERY recently. Join us as we seek to learn more, become more informed and help more people understand what exactly is going on.
Steve Horn is an Indianapolis-based investigative journalist and writer for DeSmogBlog.com. His writing has appeared in The Intercept, Vice News, The Guardian, Al Jazeera America, Wisconsin Watch, Isthmus, NUVO and other publications.
A graduate of University of Wisconsin, he ran at the Division-III level for a year for Carthage College before transferring and joining the Wisconsin Track Club, which won the National Intercollegiate Running Club Association (NIRCA) national championship for cross country in 2008 (his first year at UW). He has completed eight marathons with a PR of 2:43:04 at the 2009 Boston Marathon, which he ran at age 20. He ran a 2:45 at the 2009 Chicago Marathon and 2:44 at that same race in 2010. Between 2011-2013, Steve took nearly three years off of the sport and exercise altogether and is now hungry to get back to where he was in the sport before taking a few years off post-college graduation to focus on his journalism career on a 100-percent of the time basis.
